You didn't skip a base. Everyone has realationships all throughout their lives. Reagan just mean that you should always focus on your character because they determine the outcome of your relationships. Since we've been more focused on our friendship, you aren't putting it first anymore. But, chacter is something that is devolped over a lifetime, as are relationships.
Don't be hard on yourself. You have more character than you give yourself credit for. :3
